Andrew McHale, Senior Partner

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in 1996, specialising in Civil Litigation and Advocacy (defending regulatory body and CPS prosecutions). Member of the Law Society of Ireland, Law Society Criminal Litigation Accredited.

Andrew is also a Registered Lawyer with The Football Association.

Michael Muldoon, Partner

Michael graduated from the University of Ulster with an LLB Honours Degree in Law with Government before completing the Legal Practice Course at the BPP Law School in Manchester.  He completed his training contract with McHale & Co and was recently made a Partner in the firm.

Michael is a solicitor and works in our litigation department.  He has undertaken numerous successful actions against financial institutions as head of our Financial Irregularity department.  In addition to this, Michael also specialises in a broad range of dispute resolution, with particular interest in matters involving commercial contracts, construction, personal and corporate insolvency as well as professional negligence.

Marta Grzelak, Paralegal

Marta graduated from the University of Bialystok with her masters degree in 2005. During her studies she completed one year in Italy at the University of Verona. She speaks fluent Polish, English and Italian. Marta gained marketing experience working for Citibank in Poland. She joined McHale & Co in April 2006 and has experience in conveyancing, personal injury and employment law. She is the liaison contact between our Polish clients and all departments.  Marta is currently studying for her Legal Practice Certificate at Manchester Metropolitan University.  Marta has also taken up the position as our newest Trainee Solicitor.

Stuart Jones, Legal Executive

Qualified in 1980 as Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. Commenced work in the gas industry in 1978 with the majority of the 25 years involved first hand in the legal documentation including the compulsory acquisition of the necessary rights and interpretation of related statute. The move to a management role involved policy decisions in such work, negotiating and settling standard documentation and overseeing panel lawyers. Stuart joined McHale & Co in 2003, and is the first point of contact for all gas related matters for National Grid Gas plc, Wales & West Utilities Limited and Northern Gas Networks Limited. The practice is one of a small number of panel lawyers for National Grid Property and Electricity transmission/distribution on as a result of the service provided for the gas industry.

Matthew Kelly, Trainee Solicitor

Matthew graduated with a First Class Law degree in 2007.  He then completed the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, passing with Distinction.  Matthew joined McHale & Co in March 2010 as a Trainee Solicitor and is due to qualify as a Solicitor in 2011.

Nicola Nolan, Conveyancer

Nicola has 14 years experience in conveyancing and during this period has cultivated successful relationships with local estate agents and financial advisors.  She also acts for various investor clients who buy and sell continuously.  Nicola also receives frequent instructions from various banking institutions regarding remortgages and transfers of equity.

Nicola is currently studying The Licenced Conveyancing Distance Learning Course.  She has completed 3 out of the 5 exams successfully and hopes to have finished the course by the middle of 2010.

Nina Mahaffy, Trainee Solicitor

Nina graduated from the University of Central Lancashire with an LLB Honours Degree in 2002.  She then worked for various insurance companies and intermediaries, including Quinn Insurance.  She completed the Legal Practice Course at Manchester Metropolitan University in June 2008.  In February 2009 she joined McHale & Co as a Trainee Solicitor and is due to qualify in February 2011.

Ruth Massey, Solicitor

Ruth works in the Conveyancing Department.  She has a wealth of experience in that area as she has spent the last twenty years advising on both residential and commercial conveyancing matters.  Ruth also has experience in wills and probate and will continue to practice in these areas at McHale & Co.

Leanne Morse, Paralegal

Leanne began her career in the legal profession as a Junior Clerk in 1996 at a firm in Stockport.  During her time there she trained as a Legal Secretary.  In 2001 she took up a position at a firm of solicitors in Heaton Moor dedicated to family law matters.  Whilst there she had experience in Family, Children/Care Proceedings, Wills and Probate and some Personal Injury matters.  She joined McHale & Co in 2006 where she is a Fee Earner in the Personal Injury and Family Departments.

Phil Radley, Sports Law Consultant

Phil trained and initially specialised in Intellectual Property at a national law firm before joining Manchester based Sports Law specialist firm IPS Law in 2006.  Phil has advised professional sportsmen from Premiership football clubs, international Premiership footballers, Premiership rugby players and clubs, Superleague players, Ryder Cup golfers and various leading sports and media agents in a range of sports specific commercial, regulatory and contentious matters.  Phil has also lectured on sporting legal matters, most notably the relationship between player, agent and club at the FIFA Master Class in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Laura Sharrock, Solicitor

Laura graduated from Queen Mary College, University of London, with an Honours Degree in English Literature. She then completed her Graduate Diplomas in Law and Legal Practice at BPP Law School in Manchester, finishing her studies in 2007. She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 after training at McHale & Company.

Laura works predominantly in the Litigation Department and advises clients on a number of matters from contractual disputes to debt recovery.

Rebecca Taylor, Paralegal

Rebecca graduated from the University of Warwick in 2005 with an Honours Degree in Classics.  She then completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and the Bar Vocational Course at Manchester Metropolitan University.  She is a member of the the Middle Temple and was called to the Bar in 2008.  Rebecca joined McHale & Company in 2008 and is working in the Financial Irregularity Department
