“I am delighted that the Law Society’s challenge, to the last government’s outrageous attempt to limit the amount of costs the public could recover, if they successfully defended themselves against the State, has been successful. The Lib Dems and Conservatives were both against the move in opposition, and saw the change as a breach of people’s fundamental rights. I just hope that they will avoid the charge against themselves of double standards and hypocrisy by leaving things well alone now!”
