Partners Andrew McHale and Michael Muldoon pledged to raise money for The Christie by running the Bupa Manchester 10k.
They, and 2 other members of staff, joined the ranks at their scheduled start times on a rather bleak and cold Sunday. A typical Mancunian day, the sky was leaden and rain threatened throughout the morning. The wet weather managed to hold off until the last member of McHale & Co, Laura Sharrock, set off from the starting blocks and she got a thorough soaking.
Despite the chill, there were lots of supporters along the track to give encouragement, as well as Twitter pal of Andrew, Clint Boon, who was playing tunes to entertain the passing runners.
Seasoned runner Matt Kelly set off with the first wave of established runners, followed by Andrew, Michael and finally Laura.
Monday brought with it a few aches, pains and grimaces but it was all worth it.
We are currently totting up the final amount raised as we have a few more fundraising events before the Just Giving pages close down.
Thank you to everybody for your generous support.
