McHale Sports client, Liam Cooper, has joined Huddersfield Town on a season long loan from Hull City. Liam, who turns 20 in August, will continue his development under Lee Clark.

Darren Bossons says "Liam had a number of clubs wanting him for the 2011/12 season but Huddersfield Town represents an excellent destination and a team likely to push for promotion to the Championship".

Liam said "When a club like Huddersfield are willing to take you, it's an opportunity I wasn't willing to reject."

"The manager said we're going to have a good go this year so hopefully we can push for the automatic places."

"It's a big squad and the competition is brilliant. There is no room for complacency and football is every man for himself when you're trying to get into the team.".

Lee Clark told the club website: "We have found it really hard to find a quality left-sided centre half since I've been here. Peter Clark has done terrifically on that side but Liam would give us a bit of balance."

"As well as being a very aggressive boy with excellent reading of the game, Liam brings extra pace and mobility to the centre-back area."

Liam has been part of the Scotland Under-19 international squad and made his debut for Hull City in the Carling Cup in August 2008 when he was aged just 16. He made his Premier League debut the following season and went on to play twice in the top flight.
