Accused of a crime - thought it could never happen to you?

At the recent meeting of the curry club Andrew McHale gave a brief talk about his experiences as a Criminal lawyer. Andrew has over 18 years experience in this area of law and has had recent success with cases including assault, rape and theft.

We are all willing to pay that bit extra for a quality product, such as a car or a handbag. However why do we think it’s good enough to turn up at a police station and receive whatever advice a duty solicitor can provide. The ramifications of a criminal charge, let alone a caution or criminal record can impact the rest of your life. Paying for this advice could be invaluable.

Getting the right advice at the right time can be crucial in criminal cases.

Andrew’s speech created a great buzz at the curry club and a rash of stories from people about their own experiences. Everyone resoundingly agreed to keep Andrew’s business card close to hand near their other emergency numbers!

Why not come along to the next event, make some new contacts, and chat to like minded people all over a delicious curry. You may even learn something that will be invaluable to you or your family at a later date!

The next event is Thursday 14 June 2012. Why not visit NITC to book your place now?

Expression of Gratitude. PDF Print E-mail

Monday, 30 April 2012 08:47

We recently received this lovely letter from one of our clients after using our services to buy a property;

Re: Purchase of XX Crescent, Sale, M33 XXX

I don't do this. As a rule, I moan & grumble to friends about a particular experience or service. I certainly don't write to express gratitude. I expect that like most people, I feel thankful when a service is well provided and simply move on.

But, in this case, I have to write. I have moved home thress times in the apst 12 years. The first two experiences were so painful that I delayed moving again, long after a change in our personal circumstances required us to downsize. This time, I chose my Solicitors wisely. McHale & Co were recommended to me by a work colleage who urged me to "make sure you ask for Nicola & Nick". This was the first of many excellent pieces of advice I received over the next few months. What a team Nicola & Nick are - probably the best partnership since Crick & Watson...

Once I had got over the initial shock of them calling me to provide regular updates, the transaction proceeded smoothly. Issues with Covenants, which threatened to derail the Purchase, were deftly handled by Nicola, who I feel combines her excellent legal knowledge with down-to-earth common sense advice and an unflustered manner. We felt reassured that any problems would be handled and that we wouldn't be needlessly worried, unlike my previous Solicitors who would leave telephone messages that there were "serious problems with the Purchase" and then be incommunicade for the remainder of the day.

I'll keep it brief & to the point. I think the service I received at McHale & Co was probably the best I have received from any professional organisation.

I sincerley wish the firm all the best for the future.

Regards

Mr J S

McHale Muldoon take on Irish Banks in PPI Mis-selling PDF Print E-mail

Tuesday, 27 March 2012 13:26

Our sister office, McHale Muldoon, based in Dublin, has successfully launched it's Financial Irregularity department dealing with the mis-selling of Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) by Irish Banks. Amazingly the settlements are coming through already.

Much like the scandal in Britain, Irish financial institutions used the same mis-selling tactics used by UK banks over the past decade. The scandal saw British banks set aside over £5billion to compensate British customers after a series of failures through the English courts.
